What exactly is Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP)?
SMP is a non-surgical treatment that uses specialized pigments and micro-needles to create the appearance of tiny hair follicles on your scalp, resulting in the look of a fuller head of hair or freshly shaved head.
Is the SMP procedure painful?
Most clients experience minimal discomfort, rating it 3-4 out of 10 on the pain scale. We use topical numbing cream to ensure your comfort throughout the treatment.
How long does an SMP treatment last?
With proper care, SMP results can last 4-6 years before requiring a touch-up. The longevity depends on factors like skin type, sun exposure, and aftercare routine.
What's the recovery process like?
Initial healing takes 7-10 days. Your scalp may appear slightly red and tender for the first few days. You'll need to avoid swimming, excessive sweating, and direct sun exposure during this time.
Can SMP be removed if I change my mind?
Yes, SMP can be removed through laser treatment if desired. However, choosing an experienced practitioner and having a clear treatment plan reduces the likelihood of wanting removal.
How many sessions will I need?
Most clients require 2-3 sessions, spaced 10-14 days apart, to achieve optimal results. Each session builds upon the previous one to create natural-looking density and definition.
